Hey there  and happy Wednesday! I’m typing this from a hotel room in beautiful Charleston, SC. The countdown is on and I’m due to check in at MUSC for surgery in less than an hour. If you’ve been around these parts for a hot minute, then you might recall that I did battle with a benign mastoid tumor in 2014. I shared that journey with you and I wanted  to share an update as well.

Despite the skillful hands of Dr. Lambert, this tumor isn’t going down without a fight. So here we are again, prepping for round three.  And I’m claiming it on faith that today is the day that this tumor is finally toast! I covet your prayers, warm wishes, lit candles, and naked bonfire dances as we roll up our sleeves and go in after this sucker. I’ve carried it with me for the whole of my thirties and I’m knocking on the door of forty (6 weeks and counting).

How delightful it will be to not carry this struggle with me into the next decade!  How jealous you will be when I earn the title of “Bionic Woman” with my flashy new titanium ear implants! How sweet it will be when I can fully hear again and listen to the sound of my teenage daughters quarreling about where we should have dinner without the need for hearing aids!

See what I did there? I’m claiming it all on faith and I’m doing the necessary hard work to get there. Entrepreneurship is a remarkably similar process- we set goals, stake claims, and then roll up our sleeves and dive into the business of getting it done.  The genesis of launching any business is the belief in something bigger than ourselves, a longing to create the reality we covet, and a willingness to do the work to make things happen. Today, my prayer is that both you and I are successful in our endeavors.

Things will be a bit quiet here over the next few weeks as we wind down the year and I spend some time in recovery.  But I have big, big plans for 2016 and I’m really eager to share them with you!  I’m sending you every warm wish for a magical holiday season… see you soon. xo
